Kiruku Kaadu : People who go to the forest become crazy

There is a place nearer to Kodaikanal in Tamilnadu called “Mathikettan solai.”

The meaning for Mathikettan solai is, the place which destroy the knowledge. The local people called this forest as Kiruku kaadu.( people who go to the forest become crazy.)

People who entered in to the forest to explore never returned back. It is believed that this place destroy the knowledge of people. So that they forget the path to return back and everything. They circling the whole forest and finally died.

The death toll in the forest is already 12. So the Tamilnadu government put a warning sign board to not enter in to the forest.

What is the exact mystery in this forest?

It is believed that there is a particular flower in this forest. The smell of the flower makes people go crazy.

Another one is, people believed some siddhas and herbs in the forest. The herb name is Thigai poondu( Thigai poondu - a plant supposed to be bewilder persons trampling on it.) If it touches our body, it destroy the knowledge. Some people believed there is an illegal activities happen in the forest. That's why they started this rumours.

Anyways, this place is not suitable for the adventure seekers.
