I recommend you to read this..
This guy, Cong Du.
He has spent 30 years transitioning from a famed banker to a “Dad” of 20,000 Chinese kids.
He was born in HongKong, and moved to US, along with his parents at age of 14.
He graduated from Columbia University as an undergraduate .
His master degree was finished at Harvard.
After finishing his life at college, he began his career in Wall Street.
At age 27, he became one of the executives in a Switzerland bank.
At age 29, he became a VP in a French investment bank.
Back then, he earned millions of dollars and his social circles were filled with celebrities and public figures.
His dream was to be a one of the most famous bankers in history.
During his 10 years on Wall Street, his daily duty was to help billionaires become even richer. “Everyone around is so wealthy, healthy, and have a highly decent salary. Experiencing to much of this type of life would make you think this is the world it should be. ” said Cong Du.
About 20 years ago, he conducted an investigation into a village in province Henan, China by chance, finding out there are many HIV carriers in there, nearly in every single family. The residents in the village, due to the poverty, used to go sell blood in exchange for money. To lower the cost, the people collecting blood would use the same needle multiple times, thereby spreading the HIV to many people. So many kids were born HIV carriers and orphans.
In his first night after visiting the “HIV village”, he struggled to sleep, the tragedies of the village kept flashing and hovering around in his head.
He made a decision that his parents would never understand and accept—to quit his job and do something for the kids in the village.
His mom was the first to object to him, saying “I paid so much efforts to grow you up, sent you to Harvard, not to make you to be a volunteer, to help bunch of kids irrelevant. ”
He said “it’s never too late to be a banker, but if leave these kids behind, it will to too late for them soon.”
He knew lots of parents’ in this village couldn’t afford to let their kids go to school, so right after he arrived back in Hong Kong, he established a foundation for these kids, to help them go to school and get their education, and he knew this was the only way they can change their lives.
The first year, 127 kids were aided.
The second year, 400 kids were aided.
Now, 20,000 kids have been aided.
These years, he described his life as “ even busier than before when he was a banker, but earn no cent.”
Every year, he hoes back to the village with the kids aided and encourage those HIV carriers, saying “you all can be like me one day, go to college, earn money, and have a life you want.”
He set up a bakery workshop, training these kids to become bakers…..
One of the kids became a Chinese doctor, always nagging him to lose weight and have his blood sugar under control……
He didn’t build his own family, yet he has been invited to attend the kids’ marriages and to be the host now and then, every kids getting married would call him father…..
Now Cong Du is nearly 50, and because of his busy life, he has a very serious health condition. But everytime he sees those kids live their lives as a normal person, he feels so delighted and comforted.
He said, “you will never experience this with your entire life to be a banker.”
He became financially poor, but is a wealthy father for having 20,000 kids.
Keep posting brother.
