The Russian Dyatlov Pass Incident.

Hold your jaw. It may hang for a while.(slightly graphic images ahead)
The date is 26th February, 1959
A group of nine Skiers led by Igor Dyatlov were found dead near their campsite near the Otorten Mountain in Russia.
  • Two of the bodies were found a mile away from the campsite. Even in the temperatures of -30°C, the bodies wore only underwear.
  • Another three bodies were found between the other two and the camp. One of them had a fractured skull, though it was said that the cause of death for all 3 was Hypothermia.
Not too mysterious, right? It gets weirder.
The other 4 bodies were found 2 monthslater. They were found nearly half a mile beyond the original two. Now…
  • Out of the four, one had a cracked skull, one had crushed ribs, and one woman had crushed ribs and….A MISSING TONGUE.
WHAT.
Oh, it doesn’t end here.
These 4 bodies found 2 months later WORE THE CLOTHES OF THE OTHER TWO HALF NAKED BODIES.
Moreover, when these clothes were tested, they were found to be RADIOACTIVE.
Actually, there were reported traces of radiation all around the campsite.
Really bizarre…
However…it doesn’t cease to become more puzzling when the radiation seemingly had not caused any external trauma on the bodies. It was determined that the damage was from a force too strong for a human to cause.
The most alarming detail, however, is that their tent had been ripped from the INSIDE.
No one knows how these people died. Some theories state that it was an avalanche. It explains a lot of anomalies observed. But it still doesn’t explain the radioactivity and the missing tongue.
Another theory suggests that it was a Soviet missile test. However, no signs of an explosion OR any record of a test launch was found.
A true mystery. And a rather unsettling one…
