Greek Mythology : Erysichthon of Thessaly

Erysichthon was the King of Thessaly. He ordered trees to be cut down from a sacred grove which led to the death of a nymph. The fairy cursed the king so that the kings hunger could never be sated. The more he consumed, the hungrier he got. The king sold all of his possessions for food. He even sold his daughter into slavery for more food. Still, the endless amounts of food couldn't sate his hunger. The hunger got the best of him and he became so hungry he ate himself to death.
