Mir Osman Ali Treasure Trove

The seventh and the last Nizam of Asaf Jah Dynasty of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali was a man of tremendous power, eccentricity and class, all rolled into one.
There are a lot of stories about his palaces and his riches and his grandeur. He was also famous for his stunning collection of jewelry and legendary treasure.
Time Magazine called him the richest person in the world in the 1937. Perhaps the Bill gates or Jeff Bezos of his time.
The Hyderabad Nizam’s jewellery collection is said to have more jewels than all the collections of princes in India put together
The Nizam, terrified of a revolution or takeover of his state, made plans to transport his wealth out of the country. But later he dropped this idea.
His personal wealth and most of the famed Nizam jewellery were never recovered after his death.
It is believed that they still lie somewhere in the underground chambers of King Kothi Palace in Hyderabad, where the Nizam lived most of his life.
Just imagine, what if one day we, Indians, recover those super expensive jewels and diamonds. Maybe India will again be recognized as The Golden Bird.
