Some Facts About Sleeping



Here are some facts about sleep which you might like and find useful!!
  1. The record for the longest period of time without sleep stands at 264.4 hours and was set by a high school student in 1964.
  2. Most of the people sleep 8 hours at once but we should sleep 2 times- 4 hours each, that’s how the body works perfectly.
  3. Some people can live without food for 2 months, but no one can live without sleep for more than 11 days.
  4. We have no conclusive evidence as to whether animals dream or not.
5. Man is the only mammal that willingly delays sleep.
6. Sleep is just as important as diet and exercise.
7. If you have a hard time sleeping, just blink your eyes rapidly for 60 seconds.
8. Newborn babies spend abount 65% of their sleep in REM.
9. Children tend to fall asleep faster and sleep longer when they go to bed before 9 p.m.
10. Blind people often have trouble with sleep because daylight is so important to regulate circadian rhythms.
